本书对瑞典军事博物馆藏的300多面俄国军旗使用的中国丝绸进行艺术和技术的深入考察和分析记录，并对其上的丝绸图案进行分类、复原及研究。本书由中国和瑞典军事博物馆合作撰写。该论著主要由论文和图录、附录等部分组成，论文包括藏品收藏经过、总体介绍、技术和艺术特点，共计5篇文章。图录包括近130面军旗及其纺织品的图片、纹样复原图，纺织品图片有整体图和局部图，并有对应的文物信息、纺织品研究和分析。附录包含有近300面军旗藏品图片及对应的信息，本书参考文献等。
