中国减贫的巨大成就引起了社会各界的普遍关注。为满足国内外从事、参与和研究减贫与发展的政府组织、国际组织、社会团体、企事业单位、公益与慈善机构、大学、科研院所以及个人等对中国扶贫开发相关信息的需求，为国内外扶贫机构提供信息交流和决策参考，为有关组织与机构开展中国扶贫开发问题研究提供参阅资料，更为了作为扶贫开发进入新阶段的宣传工具，以引起全社会对扶贫开发更大的关注和重视，我们于2009年开始筹划编撰一部反映中国扶贫开发信息的大型综合工具书——《中国扶贫开发年鉴》。本书是《中国扶贫开发年鉴2021》中文版的英文对照版。
