本教材为动力学分册，共包含10章内容，前4章主要是对运动学的描述：第1章是对质点的运动学的描述；第2章是对刚体的两种基本运动形式（平动和转动）的描述；第3章介绍了点的复合运动；第4章介绍了刚体的平面运动。后6章是关于动力学方面的内容：第5章是质点动力学；第6章是动量定理，包含质点和质点系的动量定理，进而将其拓展到刚体平面运动中；第7章是动量矩定理；第8章是动能定理；第9章是达朗贝尔原理和虚位移原理；第10章是振动。
