Roberto Coda Zabetta (Biella 1975. vive a Milano) e uno dei pittori piu interessanti emersi in Italia sul finite degli anni Novanta e, pur giovanissimo, ha ottenuto importanti riconoscimenti quali il Premio giovane artista al Miart nel 2003 e la partecipazione alia sezione Anteprima della XIV Quadriennale d'Arte (Torino 2004). Le sue grandi tele, realizzate con smahi bianchi e neri e recentemente a colori, da cui e impossibile ottenere sfumature o effetti chiaroscurali, sono elaborazioni di vohi deriva-ti da scatti fotografici utilizzati come appunti,spesso cohi nella realtY, altre volte risucchiati dall'immagine televisiva in un processo di accorpamento casuale e nevrotico. Man mano che ci si avvicina alia tela, l'immagine perde verosimiglianza per diventare azione, gestuali-to, segno. Nella monografia, ohre al testo criti-co, un dialogo tra l'artista e il curatore.

Roberto Coda Zabetta (Biella 1975; lives in Milan) is one of the most interesting painters to have emerged in Italy at the end of the nineties.Despite his rather young age, he has achieved important recognition, such as the Young Artist Award at the 2003 edition of Miart and partici-pation in the Preview Section of the XIV Quadriennale d'Arte (Turin 2004). His large canvases, executed with black and white ena-mels and recently with color, from which sha-ding and chiaroscuro effects are impossible,are elaborated from photos taken and used as notes-oftentimes from reality, other times from TV images in a random and neurotic process of bundling. As you approach the canvas the image gradually loses its verisimilitude to beco-me action, gesture, sign. In addition to the cri-tical text, this monograph contains a dialogue between the artist and the editor.
