The novel is rich in character and bawdy in tone, with crackling dialogue and, as one should expect, healthy doses of the absurd and the arousing (no one writes about sex as insighthdly---or as disturbinglymas Ir- ving) Until I Find You is well worth the significant investment of time it requires. Irving, however, raises the stakes significantly partway through the book [Jack's] discovery turns the novel's first half.., on its head. It's a bold move, deconstructing both Jack's life and many of the key elements of Irving's body of work in a single stroke. It's also shocking and profoundly af- fecting, the sort Of daring act only the best of writers can pull off. And Irving makes it seem effortless.

A marvel of craftsmanship It's audacious, to say the least, to expect a character with a hole in his heart to carry so hefty a novel. But so cathartic a book could easily have escaped Irving's control, and it never really does, a tribute to his artistry and his courage."

One of the temptations with a new novel by John Irving is that the reader will become so involved in the story that he/she will zip through it iust to see how it will work out Savour the book Irving is Irving,and he gives his loyal readers a particular type of pleasure in being caught up in and caring for Jack Bums.There is simply no one else who writes like he does.
