教材将话题、情景与功能相结合,以话题为内容,情景为载体,功能为语言构架,通过与学生实际生活接近的情景把课程标准中规定的26个话题和26项功能融入课文之中,并以话题为中心设计任务,形成任务型教学模式。
本次修订全面缩小听力篇幅,将与听力相关的练习按由易到难的原则进行了重新排列;对部分单元的人物关系和情节内容进行了调整,一方面通过以学生为中心的视角设计课文和对话情节,将各单元内容更加紧密地联系在一起,另一方面也使对话和故事所反映的生活更加贴近学生的生活;对部分短文中对话过多的情况进行了改动等。
