作者把语用学理论和认知语言学的理论有机地结合起来，即运用传统的言语行动理论和当代认知语言学的最新发展成果——象征理论及概念合成理论，开创性地为仿拟话语的研究建构了一个认知语用模式，形成了这部专著中仿拟话语认知语用研究的理论观点：(1)仿拟话语是一种言语行动；(2)按照象征理论仿拟话语被分为4种类型；(3)它们的生成是被仿拟话语和交际事件中的突显成分语言整合的结果。

这些理论观点是对语用学的言语行动理论和认知语言学的概念合成理论的有益补充。同时，有必要指出的是，对仿拟话语的语言学研究在西方还处于一个开发期，这方面的专著并不多见，么孝颖的这部专著至少是一个突破，它对国内外从事仿拟话语语言学研究的专家学者具有一定的参考价值和借鉴作用。
