常俊跃、李文萍、赵永青主编的《<圣经>与文化》打破了传统的教学理念，它依托学生密切关注的《圣经》与文化内容组织学生进行语言交际活动。既训练语言技能，也丰富相关知识；涉及了系统的相关内容，包含了衣物、食品、家庭、婚姻、人物、社会、城市、节日、教育、价值观、《圣经》对美英社会文化的影响等人们感兴趣的话题；引进了真实的教学材料，真实、地道的语言材料，穿插了大量的插图、照片等真实的视觉材料，表现手段活泼，效果生动直观。
