Petra Zimmermann's jewellery is refulgent with a sensuous interpretation of glamour. It glitters and sparkles, confronting the viewer with intense, vibrant colours. Don't let yourself be bedazzled by this opulent faqade, however - otherwise you may miss the manylayered play of references and ambivalent legibility behind it, and therein lies the true quality of her jewellery. Petra Zimmermann manages to create objects that are not merely "beautiful", and whose raison d'etre is not exhausted by their decorative function.
