威廉·格尔达特编著的《英国法导论(原书第11版)》正文包含了八章内容。前三章相当于总论，概括性地介绍了与英国法相关的法律渊源，同时使读者对这个法律体系、机构有一个清晰的了解。后五章则是按不同的法律部门对其进行了系统、简练、全面、准确的阐述。
