The true story of a jealous policeman and his young wife living in a shanty-town in South America. Based on a real-life murder case, chiefly narrated by Macu in flashbacks. Ismael Ramírez is a middle-aged police captain who falls in love with 8-year-old Macu. Her mother agrees to their relationship, knowing the privileges to be gained from having a member of the police force in the family. They are married when Macu is eleven and he impregnates her twice. Years later, Macu falls in love with Simón, an adolescent her own age. Ismael's jealousy leads to murder. 　　Ismael (Daniel Alverado) is a policeman in his 30s who marries child-bride Macu (Maria Luisa Mosquera). After three years, she has given birth to two children but has fallen in love with her teenage friend Simon (Frank Hernandez). She also co-wrote, directed, and served as executive producer on the film Maroa (2006), which was Venezuela's Official Selection for the 79th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film in 2007.
