从2006年1月1日起，GMAT考试的出题和管理机构由ETS（Educational Testing Service，美国教育考试服务中心）和Thomson Prometric转移至ACT、Inc、Pearson VUE。出题机构发生了变化，GMAT考试官方指南第11版由原来的一本分为三本，包括《GMAT官方指南（综合）》、《GMAT官方指南（数学）》和《GMAT官方指南（语文）》。官方指南（综合）里面所有题目(共800道)全部更新，而且以前的一些出题规律也会有所改变。

为了平稳过渡，第11版官方指南吸收了其他培训机构（如Kaplan和Prentice Review）的长处，以一个由50道Verbal（语文）组成的测试练习（diagnostic section）作为起点，希望能帮助广大考生提高复习效率，增强应试能力。
