There is an entry in the register of deaths at the Magistro della Sanita of Milan which states that the painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo died on 11 July 1593, at the age of about 66, with "retention of urine and kidney stones" as the cause of his death. It also mentions that he had not died from the plague.Arcimboldo was probably born in Milan in 1527, the same year in which Rome was conquered and plundered by Charles the Fifih's mercenaries.
