蔡世文主编的《旅游英语口译训练基础(附光盘新世纪高职高专旅游英语类课程规划教材)》以“工学结合、能力为本”的职业教育理念为指导，以培养学生在未来工作中需要的英语口译能力为目标，以学生为主体、教师为主导，以实际工作过程为主线的教学思路，通过一定的英译汉、汉译英口译技能操练，使学生熟悉和掌握旅游英语口译工作中所涉及的英语基本句型、基本词汇和行业中所使用的惯用表达法；掌握必需的口译技巧和理论知识；熟悉和了解翻译活动中应该注意的中西方文化差异，力求全面提高高职高专旅游英语专业学生的双语运用能力。学生通过本课程的学习和训练，能在旅游英语口译工作中较熟练地进行汉英两种语言的互译互用，能够承担常规性旅游全过程中的交替传译任务。
