The series ‘Architecture Monographs' seeks to create a space in word and image in which contemporary architecture can manifest its provocative reality.The central focus is not the architects' individual handwriting but their personal experience of the age-old yet ever-present passion for building and rebuilding.

Monographs on, among others, Xaveer De Geyter and Christian Kieckens are in preparation.

The series is edited by Geert Bekaert.

bOb Van Reeth has always claimed to be in search of architecture, whether in his own designs and those of his firm - the ArchitectenWerkGroep (A.W.G.) - or as the Architect General of Flanders. This quest adds a new dimension to his architecture and expands its possibilities, yet without altering its fundamental disposition. Architecture has always been more toVan Reeth than simply designing and creating buildings, and no matter how much he may think in terms of buildings, he refuses to see them as simply physical structures.They form part of the flow of life and set out to extricate themselves as much as possible from the space occupied by the media.

Geert Bekaert's essay on Van Reeth's development is followed by a series of project dossiers which are illustrated with sketches, plans and magnificent photographs, and annotated with notes by the architect himself.
