The book project was established in order to present this portion of Bjorn Ransve's oeuvre in the best possible manner. Alternatives such as an exhibition, catalogue, Internet presentation or film could all have had their interesting aspects, but a full-format book appears as the best form by which to present the work. In addition, the artistic qualities are so high that only a comprehensive book does the work full justice. The book can be viewed as an exhibition of a great number of drawings presented in an unusual way Drawings on paper are also well-suited to the book form, as opposed to sculpture and painting which easily lose aspects of their central artistic qualities, such as three-dimensionality and texture, when reproduced in printed form.
