本书根据《“04规则”中华人民共和国海船船员适任考试航海英语考试大纲》针对无限航区、近洋航区船舶二、三副职责要求，及交通部航海类专业《航海英语阅读教学大纲》编写而成。本书的目的是通过大量阅读扩大航海英语专业词汇，熟悉航海英语各种体裁，增加航海专业知识，提高航海英语阅读水平。
