《感染病学》就是参照国内中文版国家级规划教材《感染病学》的编写内容及其体例，对引进的国外原版经典教材Harrison's Infectious Diseases进行改编而完成的。在改编过程中，关注近年来疾病谱的变化及其研究进展，对英文原版教材内容进行了适当的调整和更新，删除了若干在我国不再重要或不太正确的内容，补充近年已经公认的新进展、新观点、新成就，同时为了迎合新形态数字教材建设发展方向，补充和完善了图片、PPT课件、习题及答案解析、拓展学习等多媒体资料，为进一步开辟数字课堂打下基础。
本教材的主要读者对象为来华留学生、采用双语教学的医学生、研究生。衷心希望该书的使用，能成为推动《感染病学》课程建设和教学方法改革的重要抓手，给我国的医学教材建设注入新的活力，对推动我国医学教育的综合改革、全面提升人才培养质量发挥重要作用。
